Field notes
In a ranked future there is a dating app related to wellness. What is it?
Viate
A dating app that puts sleep, fitness and other health numbers on people’s profiles.
Your sleep score on a dating profile.
Viate asks you to connect a health tracker before you can join. Your sleep, heart rate and fitness become part of your application. Get accepted and you can compare other people's numbers alongside their photos.
Dating profiles already give you plenty to judge someone by. Viate adds how well they slept and how much they exercise, then treats those numbers as a reason to let them in or keep them out.
Try the application and browse the sample profiles. The demo doesn't collect health data, and the acceptance decision is random. The people and measurements are made up.
How might we show what dating looks like when health scores decide who gets in?
